This article analyses the depiction of cinema projectionists as central characters in British film comedies, ‘The Smallest Show on Earth’ (1957), and the Welsh-language film ‘Coming Up Roses’ (Rhosyn a Rhith) (1986). The article specifically looks at the implications of the projectionist as hero in the narrative and the portrayal of their work on screen.
